BBL Esports Just Entered CS2 — Everything About Their New Roster

The org is best known internationally for its Valorant team, which has fielded competitive rosters in the VCT ecosystem, but BBL has also previously run teams in League of Legends and PUBG. CS2 marks a genuinely new venture for the organization, its first time ever fielding a Counter-Strike roster.

The Roster BBL Picked Up

Despite the organization's strong Turkish roots, BBL opted for an all-Danish core for its first Counter-Strike entry. The full roster is IceBerg, NickyB, Boye, leakz, and Jason "salazar" Salazar. The five players were previously competing together under the unsigned Echo banner, and before that, they were all on Tricked as a unit, meaning this isn't five individual signings bolted together, it's an already-established lineup simply moving under a new organizational banner.

Salazar is likely the most recognizable name to CS2 fans following the announcement. He played a single event as a stand-in for HEROIC back in 2023, and has since spent time with both ECSTATIC and Gaimin Gladiators, reaching the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 with ECSTATIC, a genuine top-level tournament appearance that gives the roster a player with real Major experience heading into this new chapter.

Where BBL Starts Out

Because the entire lineup transferred over as a unit rather than being assembled from scratch, BBL Esports inherits the team's existing place in the Valve Regional Standings, arriving immediately at 47th in the world rather than starting from zero. That's a meaningful head start compared to a completely new roster, and it reflects the fact that this group has already built results together under previous banners before BBL picked them up.
